Comfort Inn Glenelg

Stay was OK. Great location and rooms were quite considering they were on a busy road. Not sure what expectations are here....but I stayed for a week and not at any point in the week were my sheets changed. Room was serviced everyday though. Bed was SUPER comfy. In general the rooms need a good clean and makeover though. I'd stay here again but i'd keep my expectations in check.

The Comfort Inn Glenelg was very accommodating when we had to cancel our trip and let us use that booking a few weeks later - thank you ! We finally arrived after reception closed and getting our key was easy via a lock box. The room was very large and well appointed. Comfy bed and pillows and good TV. Unfortunately, they forgot to give us any milk for a cuppa and to provide us with breakfast hampers. After 3 phone calls we got them with apologies. Other than this minor glitch, we were satisfied with our stay and would recommend.

I am a corporate traveller, and the room was booked by my travel agent. It was booked as a non-smoking 🚭. Late check-in was okay, even though there was a bit of fumbling by the late check-in agent handling the calls after hours. Seems that they handle more than one property and at first could not find my booking as they were looking at a different property to where I was booked. All good, it was fixed in the end. I collected my keys from the late check-in key collection safe. Code to the safe was provided, and an SMS going along with it had all the instructions, too. The physical collection of the key was as per expected standard. I slugged my bags to the front of my room, and as soon as I unlocked the room (Room 13), a thick residual smoke stench enveloped my nostrils. I could not believe it. I tried to crank up the aircon to see if the stench would be expelled, but the more I walked into the room, the more my breathing became difficult. I do not have asthma or an acute respiratory condition. I have just never smoked in my life, and I stay away from smokers. I could not believe the heaviness of the stench. I promptly called the after-hours check-in desk, the one who I had spoken to earlier. I narrated concisely that the room was a smokers room, and I was struggling to breathe and therefore could not stay in this room. The agent quickly gave me instructions to collect a different key from the late check-in safe. I left the room, locked up, took pictures, and went back to collect the next key and drop off the current one in the checkout key drop box. Room no. 7 was allocated. I was still so stunned by the state of that room and the stench that was in it such that I began to doubt that there was going to be any difference. I even thought of just leaving the premises and calling my agent to book me another hotel. I opened Room no. 7, and it was much better. It was not as fresh as expected, but I just compromised and settled in. I was tired from a long day of travelling and needed to rest and restore as I had an early start for more travel the next day. I was thoroughly disappointed in being allocated such a room. No smoking 🚭 signs were everywhere on my booking paperwork and inside the room. But still, it had that shocking dense smokers stench! There was no comfort at this inn. It is not comfort at all to sleep in smokers rooms. A refund for my stay must be considered.
